Six chapters, one of which is still going.

I grew up in the back room of my mom's beauty salon. She ran the whole thing herself, and I sat on the front steps playing accordion at people walking past, trying to bring them in.

That is probably where the marketing started. It is definitely where the performing started.

I have been making things for a camera since I was nine. The first channel was Lego reviews. It is gone now, which is for the best.

The audience was mostly family, and that seemed like enough at the time. Then school got serious and I stopped for about a decade.

In the years in between I collected the kind of experience that does not fit neatly on a page. I joined the Canadian army at sixteen and stayed three years. My first office job was in Canadian politics at seventeen. I spent seven years on a rep baseball career that went nowhere at all.

None of it was a plan. I have since climbed two active volcanoes, so the pattern held.

In late 2025 I started recording again, without much of a plan and without telling many people. The first few were fourteen seconds long.

What came out was slower and drier than I expected. Long takes, flat narration, a lot of walking. It turns out the thing I am good at is pointing a camera at something ordinary for long enough that it stops being ordinary.

That work has since reached more than 100 million views, and more than 30,000 people follow along.

I did not apply for any of the jobs I have had.

My first startup content job was at Air, because Ariel Rubin found an interview I had made with Mark Carney. The second was at Chatbase, because Yasser Elsaid's cousin sent him one of my reels. I have the one I have now because Vitalii Dodonov came across my writing while scrolling LinkedIn.

That is three in a row where the thing that got me hired was something I had already made and put up. I would not have predicted it, and I would not build a career strategy out of it, but it does keep happening.

I left U of T and joined Stan, first on contract, then in the role I have now.

I make films, build distribution, and work on Stanley Studio, which turns raw footage into finished videos for people who have a full camera roll and no time. Being a creator and working on a tool for creators is useful mostly because I can tell very quickly when it is not actually helping.

I am still figuring out what the next chapter is, which is mostly the point.
