Daniel Park Cup

Find the other Daniel Parks and make them compete.

Riot Games backed a League of Legends tournament with one entry requirement, which was being named Daniel Park. I had never played League before, which turned out not to be a barrier to running the tournament, only to winning it.

It ran as a series across the spring and finished on 13 April with an arm wrestle, live on Twitch and YouTube. There was a real possibility of being stripped of my name.

Concept, community, sponsorship, production, and distribution.

It started as a joke about how many of us there are. It ended with a games company funding a tournament for people who share a name, and a few thousand strangers watching two of us arm wrestle to settle it.
